Comments about the Dear Departed

James Edward Cargill of West Brookfield, Massachusetts died January 6th 2004. Born May 14th 1921 in West Springfield MA, Jim, as his friends called him, went off to WW2 to become one of the famous "Fighting Navy Sea Beas" and personally helped to ensure the freedoms that we all enjoy today. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years Doris. Also three sons. David James Cargill residing in Methuen MA, Peter Bruce Cargill residing in West Brookfield MA, and Robert Daniel Cargill residing in Leander TX. (Webmaster at austinstar.com) Also, two grandchildren from Dave : Debbie and Mike, and 4 from Pete : Krystal, Karyn, Katie, and Keryth. Also a whole community of friends whose lives were changed for the better as a result of knowing this awesome man. We speak of heros and we speak of best friends. Now we all know what it is like to lose both at the same time. You will always be in our hearts and minds. The world needs more people like you Dad.

James Henry (Red) Payne

James H. (Red) Payne - 1923 to 1981

My father was a great guy. He once told me that I could catch a bird simply by sprinkling salt on the bird's tail. He laughed so hard when I tried my best to get that salt on the bird's tail! Dad's are like that. Yet it taught me a brilliant lesson - Nothing is worth more than watching my family and friends laugh at life!

Another thing I would like to say is to heed your company's warnings about safety on the job. Dad was a photo-engraver and the fumes from the photographic chemicals severely damaged his lungs. He died much too young at 63.

Charlotte Gauthier-Oliver - March 23, 1983 In loving memory, from your daughter, Peggy.
